"Judy Whitson:Re: Not Needing The Cross!"

Dear Judy,

In your post you said, "I don't mean any disrespect" and I know you mean that. With that in mind I hope you will take my comments as not meaning to put down any of your feelings or what you had to say. I certainly don't mean to rebuke you, just to give you a new way to think about what happened.

However, I must say I was troubled in my spirit about the "thought" that hit you as your cross fell from it's chain. I don't believe that thought came from God. "The days of needing the cross are over/the purpose for the cross is passed." That is not true and will not be true until Jesus is in power as King on the earth!

I do believe the miracle was from God. I believe also that it was a sign to you that the times of the Gentiles is past and God's "focus" is now on the salvation of the Jews. His focus is on the Jewish people not on Israel. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem has always been a command. It has not just begun.

Until "all Israel" (the true decendants of Jacob) is saved each individual Jew must be saved the same way Gentiles must be saved. They too must come by way of the cross. "For without the shedding of blood, there is NO remission of sins." The Jews blood sacrifices looked forward to the cross. When the sacrifices are practiced again in the Millinnium, they will be looking back to the cross.

Jesus said each time we take communion we "do show forth his death till he comes." His death on the cross. The devil hates the preaching of the cross. It is foolishness to them that perish. People hate the cross because it causes them to confront their sinful nature. People want to forget the cross because they do not like to admit that all the blessings we have as Christians come from Jesus' finished work on the cross. He purchased our healing by His stripes before the cross but healing was completed on the cross.

Therefore the purpose of the cross cannot be passed. Our total salvation is still in the cross. In Jesus' resurrected body He still bears the marks of the cross in His hands and feet and in His side. I believe He will always have them. The purpose for the cross will be there until the last human is saved be it Gentile or Jew. This is the true meaning of Christmas. Not the birth of Jesus but God's gift to us of salvation.

Let us one and all glory in the cross of Christ for by it we have peace with God and forgiviness of our sins.

Lovingly,
Shelva
