"Bible prophecies not understood until our times"

Just think, that for thousands of years, readers of
holy scripture accepted prophetic statements at face
value, not being able to comprehend the modern day
society and inventions that would bring these things
about.  Only within the last 100 years, have these
prophecies made sense.  Just another sign of how close
we are to the Coming of the Lord.

Cars, traffic, modern lifestyles:

Nahum 2:4 (New King James Version)

4 The chariots rage in the streets,
      They jostle one another in the broad roads;
      They seem like torches,
      They run like lightning.

Daniel 12:4  (New King James Version)

"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book
until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro,
and knowledge shall increase."

Television, mass media:

Revelation 11:9 (New International Version)

9For three and a half days men from every people,
tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies
and refuse them burial.

Present Day Israel reborn (1948) after WWII holocaust:

Isaiah 66:8 (New King James Version)

Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things?
Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or
shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion
was in labor, She gave birth to her children.

Nuclear warfare:

Zechariah 14:12  (New King James Version)

And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will
strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem:
Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their
feet, Their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, And
their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths.

2 Peter 3:10 (New King James Version)

The Day of the Lord

10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the
night, in which the heavens will pass away with a
great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent
heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will
be burned up
