I couldn't agree more with you all that there are "of God" manifestations (e.g. healings, tongues, etc.) that Satan has devised counterfeits for. I also agree that the main purpose of counterfeits is to draw attention away from God and His divine purpose for sharing them with us in the first place. I'm Spirit-filled and I knew before I received the in-filling that there were counterfeits around, but it didn't keep me from seeking. May have scared me though a time or two! I was comforted by the fact though that God had recorded this for us in His written word - both manifestation and significance to the body. The problem arises when the manifestations aren't previously illustrated in the written Word. This doesn't mean however that God can't do a "new thing". It's just that when they occur we need to seek Him as to their authenticity and purpose within the body. I would lump gold dust, gems, orbs, etc. into this category. My concern on the number sequences is that I haven't often heard that those that received them have sought the Lord in prayer regarding their significance and received an answer. It's been thrown out there as a fleece of sorts. What I have seen on other forums is a lot of speculating as to their meaning. That is speculating that these sequences point to a time line or to a scripture verse we should be focussed on. Have we asked the Lord if they should be evaluated in view of what those who study the gematria know. I am illiterate on the latter, as well as most number symbolism. In any event I point this out as a means to caution those of us who eagerly await the Lord's return, but never to quench the Spirit.
