Addressing Bill Petrovic's question (13 Dec 2007) on OSAS

Hi Bill,

I wanted to address your question.  Recently, I posted a letter to the Doves (http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/nov2007/rogers1120-3.htm )addressing this very issue.  I don't think that the sermon that I posted could give rise to the concept of salvation by works.  At least, I hope that it didn't because nothing could be further from the truth.  Work come naturally to those who believe because the believer studies the Word and loves the LORD.  Because we love the LORD; serving Him becomes a genuine hearts desire thru the workings of the Holy Spirit.  Just like it says in the book of James; be ye doers and not hearers only.  Even the LORD said that if ye love Him, keep His commandments.  In His parables that He taught; He gave several warnings about the slothful servant.  Thus, works is something that comes naturally from the heart made manifest thru the workings of the Holy Spirit that dwell in those that love Him.

Trusting in Him,
Roger Stillwell
