"Richard's job update/prayer request..."

Hi again, Doves!

Here's what's going on with Richard's job situation.  For those of you who haven't been following the situation, and to make a long story short, Richard has had myriads of medical problems since we have been together, mostly due to the fact that when he was younger (actually up until he was 40 (three years before we met), he was a drug abuser and heavy drinker. And we all have to pay for what we've done that goes against the will of God.  He may have mercy on us where we don't have to pay with our very lives, but we pay for those actions regardless.  As a result, he had many heart attacks, three open-heart surgeries, etc., has been unable to work for the past 6 years (doctor's orders), and has very painful arthritis.  I have been working for 31 years straight, full-time, with only 8 months off in 1993, after being laid off and receiving both unemployment and severance.  I am an Executive Secretary, and I get very good pay at my current job (I've been here for 12 years) for that profession, but with the price of everything under the sun going up in price except our salaries, things were beginning to get so tight, we found ourselves having to hock things or sell them on e-Bay, etc., just to make our monthly bills.

Richard decided it was crucial that he go back to work.  We began praying about the situation, and having you and others pray about it, starting about a month ago.  The Lord responded inside of a week, and secured employment for Richard at an express lube company 20 minutes from home.  Even as He did that, I didn't feel it was going to be a permanent situation, merely an aid to us for instant salary until He'd worked out the right position for him.  Regardless, we are extremely grateful.  Richard is handling it "OK", but at 54, after so many illnesses and surgeries, standing on his feet for 9 hours day, 6 days a week, is VERY hard, not to mention we have almost NO time to spend with one another since he has to work Saturdays too, so he has been responding to other positions as they come open.

Yesterday he received a call from a company he had spoken to a few weeks ago, and never expected to hear back from.  It is also very close to home, and is a Security Guard position.  Here's where the prayer request comes in... please pray for the Spirit's leading.  He has an interview with them at 3 p.m. today.  If it is the job He wishes Richard to take, ask Him to please let Richard know right away; if he's to stay at the express lube company, he will, and will provide him with the energy, strength and stamina he needs to do his job well.  I will let you know as soon as we hear back from the security position, or if we hear back from one of the other company's Richard's applied with.

Thanks for always being there for us, and may He richly bless you and yours!

Maranatha!

Love from your sister in Yahshua!
