Amen, sister Karen!  I feel the same way about those I trusted once.  I don’t know if you read this posting I made a while back on 5 Doves, but for a while, we were going to a Messianic Congregation every Saturday.  After the service, everyone would meet in the kitchen, heat up their covered dishes, and we’d all sit, eat and fellowship before leaving for the day.  Well, the 3 visit there, the Associate Pastor/Song Leader took Richard aside and told him that he could no longer wear his T-shirts to the service, because they have a “dress code” there.  Richard is a biker, and all he OWNS were old jeans and T-shirts.  He told the guy, Jeff, that the Lord doesn’t have a dress code, and that years ago when he was in his 20’s, he played in a church band and was “on fire” for the Lord.  One day the Pastor of that church told Richard that unless he cut his long hair and shaved his beard & moustache, he couldn’t be in the band.  Richard was devastated, and didn’t return to church for over 20 years.  Jeff told him that from time to time, they have unbelievers that come to the church, and that the unbelievers judge the members in a worldly manner!  Like that’s what we, as Christians, are to embrace??????  I’ll be doggoned if I’m going to be Politically Correct just to be “part of this world”!  I was livid!!!  I refused to go back again, and Richard refused too.  People need to get a grip on what’s really important to the Most High instead of trying to please the world.  I was ashamed of Jeff, and hurt to the core!

And thank you so much for your building up of the saints, GF!  I feel the same way about 5 Doves as you do… each member was hand-picked by the Lord, and there isn’t another posting board on the Internet that more filled with love and concern for one another!
