"Chuck Baldwin attacks again"

Thanks, Dave, for forwarding Chuck Baldwin's excellent letter on Ron
Paul's qualifications.

Unfortunately, Pastor Baldwin again attacks Mike Huckabee in a
seemingly enraged fashion, as if Huckabee were the enemy of enemies.

I like Paul, too, but I think Chuck has gone overboard in his
villification of Huckabee.

I see two primary differences between Paul and Huckabee, who are both
Christian men with good ideas about our nation's needs, from what I
observe.

One, Mike is somewhat more liberal than Ron.  Not a "closet liberal" as
some have accused, but somewhat softer in thinking about human
problems.

Two, Mike believes in maintaining a presence in Iraq at this time,
while Ron does not.  On this issue, I myself am completely unable to
decide.  I leave it to God what is the better position.  I believe in a
strong national defense, which both Mike and Ron also do, but I am sort
of on Ron's side about the need to exit from Iraq sooner rather than
later.  I think, as many do, that we chose the wrong war, even though
we should strongly oppose terrorism, which is eating at our borders and
infiltrating our land.

I could vote for either of these candidates.  They agree on the most
important single issue, abortion, which is still the bete noir of our
national political life, still very important.  Any one who would vote
for other candidates who are wishy washy on this issue, as some of the
other Republicans are or have been, is putting his/her view of
economics above his/her view of Christ-like behavior.   I myself am
tempted to vote for a couple of honorable Democrats, Biden and Edwards,
but I can't do so because of their hands-off stance on abortion.  So I
must vote, this time, for one of the Republicans who is staunchly
pro-life.  This would include both Mike and Ron, plus Tom Tancredo and
Duncan Hunter.  I am not sure about John McCain, who is coming back up
in the "polls" after several big endorsements.

So far, I am liking Huckabee, and lots of other little people in our
nation seem to agree.  Lots of them like Paul, too.
Let's be fair to both.
