"To Carl Lindquist "Word of encouragement""

Carl, I’m sure you will get some positive response for your wonderful note/recollection/word from the Lord. I certainly can relate. In my 33 years as a believer I led only two people I know of to salvation. One was my 4 yr. old son, who has never left the faith. He’s 31 now. And the other was a man I worked with for nearly a year. He was stuck with me in a small office. Finally I just challenged him to talk to the Lord about it. As he had nothing to lose. But since then, no one I know of for sure despite witnessing a lot over the years. The age we’re in now...hearts are so hardened, I don’t testify/talk to anyone unless they are sincerely curious, and that has not happened in a very long time. It is disheartening. The late Clarence Larkin a great Christian scholar from the turn of the century made an astute case that though the gospel is to be preached to all, God never intended that everyone would be saved. In fact he showed that even in his day circa 1920’s how few believers there were, and as the population was increasing exponentially that the number of the truly saved was diminishing all the more rapidly, despite the evangelical outreach. It just makes me so VERY GRATEFUL to be called and saved. Thank you for sharing your experience of the Lord being pleased with you. I have been concerned with that from time to time. I know I will not be getting a disappointed  look (so to speak).
