"To Bonnie--Re Hebrew Years and Jubilee""

Hey there Bonnie,

Great to hear from you! And as always, you are one smart lady!  Not only did you know why I was researching this, but who wrote that article.  It was indeed Rabbi Simmons from http://judaism.about.com/library/3_askrabbi_o/bl_simmons_hebcaljubilee.htm

If I am understanding you correctly--you say that the original Jubilee count confirmed by a solar eclipse was in March 5, 702 B.C., but while it was a Sabbath year, it was NOT a 7th Sabbath year (Shmita year), so therefore was not followed by a Jubilee.  If it wasn't a 7th Sabbath year, then, reason dictates it had to have been either a first, second, third, fourth, fifth, or sixth!  And knowing if anyone would have figured it out, it would be YOU!

So, are you saying that we know when one Sabbath year was for sure, but since it was not a Shmita year, the correct count of the Jubilees is now lost to us, and unknowable because of the years of exile?  That relates to the debate between the Zionist Jews and the anti-Zionist Jews, but that's a whole nother rabbit hole! OK, The Sabbath years were years of rest for the land after it had been sowed and reaped for 6 years of feeding the people, so it could be renewed. So, have the Jubilee years been replaced by Jesus parable of the Sower, with the field being the world, as in Matt 13?

I'll send you my email address again.  Miss talking you ya, "Study Buddy!"

Love,

Kay
