| Gen 14:18 |
|
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. |
Gen
14:19
|
And he blessed him, and said, Blessed
be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: |
Gen
14:20
|
And blessed be the most high God, which
hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of
all.
| Rom 4:3 |
|
For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for
righteousness.
|
Abram's
name was changed to Abraham, which means "father of a
multitude."
|
Hbr 6:13
|
For when God made promise to Abraham,
because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself, |
| Hbr 6:14
|
Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee,
and multiplying I will multiply thee. |
| Hbr 6:15
|
And so, after he had patiently endured, he
obtained the promise. |
| Hbr 6:16
|
For men verily swear by the greater: and an
oath for confirmation [is] to them an end of all strife. |
| Hbr 6:17
|
Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew
unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed [it]
by an oath: |
| Hbr 6:18
|
That by two immutable things, in which [it
was] impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who
have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: |
| Hbr 6:19
|
Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the
soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the
veil; |
| Hbr 6:20
|
Whither the forerunner is for us entered, [even] Jesus, made an high priest for ever
after the order of Melchisedec.
|
Jesus was the fulfillment of the Promise given to
Abraham!
| Rev 2:17 |
|
He that hath an ear, let him
hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give
to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone and in the stone a new name written, which no man
knoweth saving he that receiveth [it].
(white=[1] of the garments of angels, and of those exalted
to the splendour of the heavenly state, [2] of the whitening colour of ripening grain)
(stone= in ancient courts the pebble given to one
acquitted)
| Rev 3:12 |
|
Him that overcometh will I
make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will
write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is
new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write
upon him my new name.
New Jerusalem="the City of God
founded by Christ", now wearing the form of the church, but after Christ's
return to put on the form of the perfected Messianic
kingdom

And Jesus said:
| 1Cr
11:26 |
|
For as often as ye eat this
bread, and drink this
cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he
come!
