"InstaVerse"
Hi, John and Doves...
I just read David Zavitz' re-post of the link to FM Riley's
study on adoption. I'm glad he re-posted the link to draw people's
attention to it - I would have otherwise missed it. What an encouraging
study... I so needed it. My husband and I once had the Ephesians
verse inscribed inside a ring we gave to our son. The specific and
pertinent promise for him in relation to that verse was in large part that
he was indeed adopted as a son at the time of his salvation early in his
life.
I love to read Pastor Riley's studies and he packs them
full of scripture references. A while back I came across an online
site that allows one to download a Bible pop-up program. When I read
any article with scripture references, I just roll my cursor over the text
of the reference in the article (ie: 1 John 1:9) and a small pop-up box
appears that has the text of the entire verse.
Within the small pop-up box, you can scroll up and down
within the chapter and book being referenced in order to gain context.
The original (and free) version is in the King James translation but there
are other versions available through InstaVerse for a small cost that (I
think) varies with the translation you choose. You can also pull
the pop-up box up on the screen and choose by a dropdown list any book
of the bible, then a chapter, then a verse. There is also a menu
dropdown with an "Options" choice that allows you to change font size and
color, background color and other features to suit you. You can grab
the edge of the pop-up box to stretch it to any size or grab the top of
it and drag it on your screen where-ever you want it. I've been using
this program for 9 months to a year and it has been invaluable. It
works on almost any webpage I have up on-screen but does not work much
of the time within .pdf documents. It has been a huge help to be
able to keep up with scripture references in studies like Pastor Riley's.
Much of the time he gives the text of a verse but not always. This
jewel enables you to read every verse referenced so easily.

I think my sister told me they don't have an application for Mac users.
Maybe they're working on that?
