"crucifixion, hell suffered
for us."
I was watching a Messianic christian show and
the crucifixion was being explained. As I listened and recalled Mel Gibson's
graphic depiction of the torture of Jesus I relized that he suffered what
happens in hell for us. Every depiction I have heard of hell speaks of
this kind of unceasing torment. Those in hell experience God's wrath on
the wicked. Jesus experienced it here on earth for all to see. Perhaps
that is old hat for you, but for me it adds weight to what he did for us.
He didn't just die for us, he suffered hell which is God's wrath.
I recall Moses asking God to send him to hell instead
of destroying the people of Israel. He was willing to suffer hell. Jesus
actualy did it. There could be no greater love. He broke the bank so to
speak and sprung us from this horrible fate.
