There is an arguement that it is ok to be wealthy today as a Christian becuase Abraham was very blessed with property and cattle.
 
How did Abraham get wealthy? He became wealthy by hard work, investing wisely, honoring God and being blessed because of that.
 
How do some of the extravegant modern evangelist become wealthy?. They become wealthy on the backs of the poor by giving them false promises. Send me money even if you dont have much and God will bless you.
 
Who lives in luxury by promising others riches? Its an old story. If we  give to get rich we are deceived by the vanity of a corrupt and dying world.  Theres a lot of suckers out there. Kind of like those that flood the gambling casino's.
 
Abraham did not become wealthy by being a shuckster.
