Frances Riley--you've got too much time on your hands, but I'm glad you do. Your diligent effort provides a wonderful picture that helps people like me to get a sense of what and where we are. God bless you my good man.Love,ShirleyDear sister,
You are mistaken! I don't have near enough time to do the study and research that I need. I started studying Bible chronology at least 30 years ago, and it has taken all this time to get it in written up in an orderly chart.
I had several reasons for preparing this chronology. First of course, was that I wanted to be able to know exactly when various Biblical events took place and be able to date my Bible to that effect. But I also had another reason.....
The Lord plainly states, "Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like Me. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure," Isaiah 46:9-10.
I have known for many years that everything the Lord has done and is doing throughout human history was set forth in the Book of Genesis in types and shadows.
Therefore I wanted an accurate chronology to find the end time time periods set forth clear back in Genesis. I have found many of them. For example.....
Jacob was the father of the twelve tribes of Israel. Repeatedly in the Old Testament the Jews are referred to as "the sons of Jacob." Jacob's life is therefore very important, even in relation to the end times. Now let me explain what I mean.....
Jacob was in a Gentile land for 20 years, corresponding with the 2000 years that the Jews have been scattered among the Gentile nations of the earth. The final six years of that time was spent taking care of Laban's cattle and fighting off the "beasts" that would destroy the cattle, Genesis 31:38-42.
Then during that 7th year Jacob departed from Laban and returned to his own country. Once back in his own country he wrestled with "a man" [the Lord Himself] all night long, Genesis 32:24-32. This is where Jacob finally got saved, and the Lord changed his name to Israel [a prince of God]. At the time this happened
Jacob was 97 years of age. Jacob's salvation at 97 years of age, being the father of the Jewish people, is a type of the national salvation of the Jewish remnant.
Look at the chronology chart and see Jacob's age for yourself. Then remember that in modern times the Lord delivered Jerusalem out of the hands of the Turks on December 9, 1917. Therefore 1918 would be the first year of the deliverance. Now add 97 years to 1918 and it will bring you to 2015. That is the year that the Jewish remnant will be saved after having wrestled with the Lord during the long night of the Tribulation. Deduct 7 from 2015 and you get 2008 for the beginning of the Tribulation.
You can verify this for yourself by carefully studying Psalms 108 - 115. In those Psalms you have a detailed description of the Tribulation period, and those Psalms correspond with the years, 2008 through 2015.
Praise the Lord! Sister, this is not all coincidence. The Lord Himself said that He "declared the end from the beginning," and there it is. Set forth in the chronology of the Book of Genesis.
There is much, much more in Genesis that I could point out, but it will have to come later. I have to go to work. God bless you. Pray for me.
