"These days ..."

These days ...

... if we feel a 'lone ranger' ... as many of you must often have  ...
we can know that we are not alone.  Recall that Elijah was told by God
that God Himself had kept 7000 that had not bowed to Baal. (Romans
11:4) So we are reminded, that it is NOT our doing, ... (for we have
all gone astray, and turned each one to his own way),  ... but it is
God's doing... that saves each one

Even when WE WERE DEAD in sins, hath quickened us together with
Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and
made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the
ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves:
it is the gift of God: Not of works, LEST ANY man should boast.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,
which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians
2:5-10

(All you who might boast that you can do something to keep your
salvation, might consider this: Can a dead person do anything for
themself?)

And somethings really are NOT that hard to figure out ... if we just
look into the 'Maker's handbook' for insight.

"Did not Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed
thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? and that man
perished not alone in his iniquity." Joshua 22:20

After hearing of those murders at that 'mega church' in Colorado ... I
found on the Internet and listened to the sermon that was preached,
the week before. The very first, and the very last thing, that one
hears in that recording is hard rock music.

Little by little, it seems, we have become so enamored with so many of
the things of this world, and so detached from the HOLY ONE of Israel,
that we can no longer clearly see the plethora of idols in our life
that we lift up to God, thinking God should be pleased with all this
... not seeing, that instead, we commit rapacious adultery with
legions of demons behind each idol.

The marvel of it all is that God, still says: I AM your husband, put
away your harlotry and return to Me.

Plead with your mother, plead: for she is not my wife, neither am I
her husband: let her therefore put away her whoredoms out of her
sight, and her adulteries from between her breasts; Hosea 2:2

For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy
Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he
be called. Isaiah 54:5

They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become
another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be
greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers;
yet return again to me, saith the LORD.

...

Go and proclaim these words toward the north, and say, Return, thou
backsliding Israel, saith the LORD; and I will not cause mine anger to
fall upon you: for I am merciful, saith the LORD, and I will not keep
anger for ever. Only acknowledge thine iniquity, that thou hast
transgressed against the LORD thy God, and hast scattered thy ways to
the strangers under every green tree, and ye have not obeyed my voice,
saith the LORD.

Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD;

for I am married unto you:

and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will
bring you to Zion: And I will give you pastors according to mine
heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. And it
shall come to pass, when ye be multiplied and increased in the land,
in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, The ark of the
covenant of the LORD: neither shall it come to mind: neither shall
they remember it; neither shall they visit it; neither shall that be
done any more.

At that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the LORD; and all
the nations shall be gathered unto it, to the name of the LORD, to
Jerusalem: neither shall they walk any more after the imagination of
their evil heart.

In those days the house of Judah shall walk with the house of Israel,
and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land
that I have given for an inheritance unto your fathers. But I said,
How shall I put thee among the children, and give thee a pleasant
land, a goodly heritage of the hosts of nations? and I said, Thou
shalt call me, My father; and shalt not turn away from me.

Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye
dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.

A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of
the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they
have forgotten the LORD their God.

Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings.

Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.  Jeremiah 3:1, 12-2
