I agree with you 100%, Peggy !! ......(as so many of my friends do too)
         I was going to my Bible Study on Christmas Day, and the guy I ride with was saying the same thing as you.   As I was listening to him, telling me the same thing as you,......the Lord gave me a "word" at that time,...and the word was "withdrawal".   He stopped talking about how bad his feelings were at this time, because he knew he needed to hear what the Lord had just given me,......and I can only pray that this will maybe help in understanding, what is happening to alot of us, I feel.   When I started explaining to him what I felt the Lord telling me,...I had to discribe it in a way that he could really understand the importance of it,.....so I used the example of him trying to stop drinking Pepsi Soda,...and start drinking pure & simple,......WATER !   Knowing what he was going thru in trying to stop drinking, Pepsi,........I thought the example the Lord was giving me,....... would help him understand his "bad feelings, or Let downs".
       I used "Pepsi", and his false need, but being "hooked" as so many people are to soda !!!...........as the "WORLD", and all it has to offer, which is nothing of God, or HIS Kingdom,.......and "WATER",.....as the Spirt, and all that is of God.
        As we look and focus on the "WATER", and start drinking !!!.....there is still so much of the Pepsi, still in us, and we still need to be cleaned out of it, for our body to start working right,.....but because our bodies/mind/Spirt were so conditioned (for so long of time) to thinking "Pepsi" (the world, and false teachings from pulpit)   was so good,......we are having "withdrawals",.....or these "let downs",......because we are getting cleaned up and receiving the TRUTH,.....but we must understand that this is good,.....because  these "withdrawals", will get less and less, as we drink pure water,.........and as we realize more and more, that there is nothing in this world but Jesus,.......and we need to get (all) the "junk" out of us and not look back, like Lot's wife !!   I beleive it is so close, that HE needs to cause these "withdrawals" in us,..to get us ready for HIS return.  HE needs all of us to turn from this world,........and totally look to HIM,......which I pray it is today, or night.
       Yes,.....I believe we all need to get "unhooked",........and what we thought,...like so many !!........from the falseness in the way we do Christmas (and every other Christian Holiday), and it has  reached the max in unGodliness............and the Lord is telling us this,........and thank God you can hear HIS HEART's cry, (for what we all have done)......and now are responding to the way you are.
        I love the the part in the Bible where Jesus is at the well, with the lady.........and when HE tells her that a time is coming, in how we need to Worship the Father in Spirt and in Truth !!!.........and that time is "right now for us" !!!
 I am going thru this myself,.......and it doesn't (these withdrawals) feel right,.......but I know in "my heart", it is !!!

            ...................................and like all of us, I pray our Lord comes before this year comes to a close !

    Just on the "health side" of this ??,......... I myself was "hooked" on the drinking of soda (especially diet),......and in this year alone, after I stopped drinking it,..I have lost over 35 pounds, now !!
           Whatever is in that drink (soda), was not good at all for my body.
