Pakistan, here we come! We departed Portland, Oregon  (Monday) at noon. Thank you to all who gave so generously and have agreed to pray for Dave and me during our time in Sialkot. Here is a recent report from Anwar.
 

Dear Bro Richard and Papa Gomez.
 
     We are getting wonderful responses from Muslim Government and Christian church leaders. The Mayor of the city and key political officials, who are all Muslims, are planning to join us. God is enlarging the size of Peace Conference [30-50 previously] so we are planning for almost 300 Christian and Muslim Leaders, along with police officers and government officials of the region.
 
     We have planned our Unity Conference and dinner for 300 pastors and evangelists of all denominations at GujranwalaCity. They are coming from throughout the city and surrounding areas (Rahwali, Chanda Qila, Francis abad and many other areas). We have planned other meetings which will make you tired because of your preaching schedule.
 
     I am sorry the police security branch didn't allow us to have you stay at our local hotel. They advised that it is not a safe place at this moment because of the national election. They have asked that you stay at my house where they can provide security for you with personal body guards. So you will have to stay with me in my little tiny house. I hope you will compromise with my native living style hut and will enjoy everything on the mission trip for JESUS.

 
We are convinced this is a history making event. Time will tell about where it leads.
 
I have been leading native ministry teams around the world for ten years. Though we have huge problems among our people here in North America, I believe the Holy Spirit has made it clear that as we, Native followers of Jesus respond to our heavenly Father and take the gospel to all nations – from our lack, weakness and brokenness – God will bring blessing to our people back home. That’s why I go. That’s why we raise the money, take a few risks and make some small sacrifices of time and energy. Yes, it is a profound opportunity to contribute something of value to shaping the next era of global missions, but also for future generations of Native Christ followers who need to know you can be fully Native and fully a follower of Jesus!
