Solstice - The Solstice
is a point in the Earth's orbit where the tilt of the Earth points directly
toward and away from the Sun. There are two Solstices each year: In the
hemisphere where the tilt is toward the Sun, that would be the Summer Solstice
for the hemisphere. In the hemisphere where the tilt is away from the Sun,
that would be the Winter Solstice. The Summer Solstice is the day with the
least amount of nighttime and the longest amount of daytime and marks the
beginning of Summer. The Winter Solstice is the day with the longest amount
of nighttime and the least amount of daytime and marks the beginning of
Winter. The Solstices are counter pointed by the Vernal and Autumnal Equinoxes.
Just looking at this I’m intrigued by
the fact that Winter Solstice is when “night” is longest and
when earth tilts “away” from the sun. I hate astrology,
but God did create the stars and I think a lot of information can be found
here. During the time before Jesus’ first appearance there was
much warfare & world conquest (Alexander the Great – and all the
fallout after, which brought Roman dominion which is when Jesus was born).
The Syrian, Antiochus Epiphanies of course sacrificed a pig on the altar,
which brought on the rebellion of the Jews and lead to what we know now
as Hanukkah. Jesus celebrated Hanukkah, so although it’s not
one of the 7 Jewish feasts it involves what happened before Jesus came the

Here is a couple of my mental notes:
- For anyone scared to look at anything having to do with
the stars because of YHWH condemning astrology, remember that Satan is
not a creator, but a deceiver. YHWH is our creator and for everything
he creates and is good for us, you can be sure that Satan has come up
with a corrupt form to deceive us. He wins many ways in this.
How? Well, he gets the majority by simply lack of interest or the
corrupt form of whatever it is. Take for example marriage and sex.
Who invented this? YHWH. It is one of the most beautiful things
there is. He allows us to become whole/one with another in marriage
and also he shares creating another human being with us – how Amazing!!!
But what does Satan do? Come up with every type of corruption of
marriage, sex, family, etc. Should we throw it all away? No,
Satan wins in this too. If you never have read “Gospel of
the Stars” by Joseph A. Seiss, I highly recommend it. I do
believe that the Gospel is told in the stars. Satan would love for
you to indulge in Astrology, but if he can’t get you there at least
he’s wiped out a huge witness. I believe the ancient Patriarchs
spent much time learning about God through the sky. Also, it was
the “wise men” who learned of our Savior and True King coming
by way of the stars. Think carefully on this. Yes, throw out
Astrology and every form of it. When I eat Chinese I refuse to read
the fortune cookie message – it’s not fun or funny to me.
But don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater either. The
heavens belong to our creator – not the liar, Satan.
- What if the pattern went something like this: Anti-Christ
(Antiochus Epiphanies), Jesus 1st coming, Jesus 2nd
coming, Anti-Christ – kind of like the Menorah where the middle
candle (Jesus) is used to light the others.
- I very much believe that the moon is tied in with all

- In C.S. Lewis’ story of the Lion, Witch and the
Wardrobe (Narnia) there is winter without Christmas. Well, look
at all the news headlines and the attempts for Santa, Happy Holiday, etc.
In other words, winter without Christmas.
- I believe in God’s Sovereignty in all things.
I believe he wants to get the message out about his son for all to hear.
Think on this one: Why did God want to tell everyone about the “Passion
of Christ” (movie) and then second tell about the birth “Nativity”
(movie out now – go see it!).
- The sun is not to be worshipped in any way, but God makes
many models for us to understand and if winter is when night is the longest
and also when the tilt of the earth is away from the sun, I think it’s
possible to look here for the end to start, anti-christ, rapture, etc.
- It’s interesting to note that the Iraq Study was
released to the public on 12-6-06. (6 X 2 = 12), lot’s of
6’s here… Babylon
will rise again as the Bible says…
- NASA is up to going to the stars again, Mars has water
and they are talking about a permanent Moon base – something is
going on here.
…kind of rambling a bit here, but lots
of good thoughts – I’d love to hear yours!
When I was in the Navy I stood watch every
night. We were told to watch two things. The sky and the ocean.
The ocean many times in the Bible is used as an example of the world and
of course the sky is the heavens. Watch what is going on in the earth
and also the heavens for Jesus coming!
