Dear Friend,

Today Karla managed to sit up with assistance and attempted to stand
on her feet but was unable to do so.  Since that exertion she has
deteriorated. Based on her symptoms and my own examination of her
back it appears she is suffering from Sciatica caused by Piriformis
Syndrome.  That is, of course, my non-medical opinion. It's pretty
obvious that she needs more than can be done for her at home. I
managed to get an appointment with an orthopedist for Wednesday
morning, and if it is Piriformis Syndrome, a physical therapy regimen
should be enough to remedy it.  In the meantime, please continue to
pray because she is in a lot of pain and emotionally very low, having
been confined to her bed for nearly two weeks now. I wouldn't
ordinarily mention it, but I have had a severe cold with fever for
three days, and this adds to the weight of circumstances. Since I
need to be able to take care of Karla's needs please remember me also
as the Lord leads. I almost never get sick so the timing of all this
is very interesting and hardly coincidental.
