# FAST WARNING 'PRESTO' MESSAGE from the SIDC (RWC-Belgium
Minor storm conditions are presently being recorded due to the
influence of the fast stream from the recurrebt coronal hole. On the
basis of data from previous rotations we expect the stream speed to
increase further and hence geomagnetic disturbances could possibly
intensify to major storm levels. Minor to major storming expected for
the greater part of the next 36hrs.
Solar activity is expected to remain eruptive to active with further
C-class events expected from NOAA AR 0930, further M-class flares likely
and another X-class flare possible. Energetic proton levels are expected
to cross the 10pfu threshold later today and may be further enhanced in
the event of further large flares.PRESTO FROM SIDC - RWC BELGIUM Wed Dec 6 2006, 2003 UT
Another major flare, this time X6.5, has erupted from NOAA AR 0930 (Catania 06). Both a Type II and Type IV have been detected in association with the flare, the former corresponding to a speed of 827km/s. At the time of writing it is thought that no LASCO data are available due to SOHO manouevres (TBC) so there may not be any images of any associated CME. At the time of writing there was no clear signature of the flare in the energetic proton flux though due to the easterly location of the flare then any enhancement would be delayed. The flare started at 18:29 and peaked at 18:47 and its location is given as S05E57.Another major flare, this time X6.5, has erupted from NOAA AR 0930

X9 Flare-- Unexpectedly, a major flare was fired from a source region at the very east limb. The first X-flare since September 2005. The flare is seen as a light flash: a sudden and strong intensity increase localized in space and time. The flare peaked at 10:35UT. Hopefully, the holy man is not struck by this lightning and will still be able to bring all presents to the children tonight.
Mal 4:2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. Mat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Kay
