I know John's wonderful list is read by those far and wide.  This is just a shot in the dark, but if any Five Doves readers are in the vicinity of Monterey, Mexico, please email John and ask him to forward it to me. Just let me know how to contact you. What I need are names and contact info for resources of lumber, tin, (any building materials), clothes, blankets, food, Bibles, etc. in that area.  And if the Lord blesses this work, I'll need contacts for homebuilder types--cheap ones, or volunteers...maybe a nearby church?  Any contact info is greatly appreciated.
 
I would also ask for prayer for this endeavor.  It started out with a knee-jerk reaction the other day to an advertisement I saw, and I have I have managed to make corporate contacts, and now field contacts in Mexico to find out the needs of some of the poorest of the poor.  So, I could greatly use your prayers! Please pray for a volunteer pastor named Jose Angel, who is ministering to those in this makeshift shanty town.  These people have absolutely nothing...  These things take time, but in the meantime, my prayer is that the Holy Spirit would descend on this tiny beleaguered community and give them the gifts of His love, peace, joy, and warm their hearts in place of their hunger, pain and desperation this Christmas season.  Believe it or not, the local contact who is going to try to find out their needs is named Gabriel!!!  Gabriel is going to go find Pastor Angel...Don't we serve an AWESOME God???
