"Part 4a: Jupiter of the  Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter Conjunction"

Greetings,

I will have at least 2 postings (part 4a and 4b) on Jupiters role in the star of Bethlehem.

Part 4a: Jupiter of the  Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter Conjunction

The Key Verse

(involving Jupiter’s role in the star of Bethlehem)

Rev 12:1

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

Rev 12:2

And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

Jupiter’s role (in the star of Bethlehem) is common knowledge

(here are some quotes)

Bob Schlenker states:

“What celestial body may be seen passing through the region of Virgo’s head that is symbolized as a crown of twelve stars? Jupiter! How is the crown of twelve stars the planet Jupiter? A crown is a symbol of a king, or, the authority to rule. Jupiter has long been known as the King planet, the ruling planet. The King planet revolves about the sun once every 12 earth years, marking it Very obviously with the number 12. Since there are 12 signs of the Zodiac and Jupiter requires 12 years for one full circuit, it may be seen in each of the zodiacal constellations for one year at a time. This is precisely the kind of information we need to be able to tell time from the celestial configuration in Revelation 12:1! Now we know which year Y’shua was born because it is in only one year in twelve that the King planet may be observed in the region of Virgo’s head! With this information, even given the broad range historians suggest as they disagree on the dating of this event, it leaves us only one year as a possible candidate: 2 BC. I have one final observation to make about Jupiter as represented by a crown of twelve stars. As Jupiter traces a path through the ecliptic, its progression is marked by elliptical retrograde motion. This means that, in each year-long Visit to a constellation, it traces an elliptical figure like a crown. It had just finished tracing such a crown over the head of Virgo (in Leo) at the birth of our Lord in the fall of 2 BC!

Earnest Martin states:

“…This apparent westward motion of Jupiter each day could have indicated to the Magi to proceed in the same westward direction toward Jerusalem. During their visit with Herod, the Magi were directed to Bethlehem by the input of the Judean Scribes.” --- THE STAR THAT ASTONISHED THE WORLD, Dr. Earnest Martin p. 47.

Jupiter, having the Hebrew name of ssedeq, meaning “righteousness.” Jupiter’s  central role in these signs was detailed in the Celestial Prelude, and it is established here in the actual signs surrounding his birth. King David’s royal genealogy provides the genetic root of Jesus the King of Kings, and “righteous branch,” whose name would be called the “Lord our Righteousness,” – http://www.try-god.com/outline2.asp

On December 25 th, 2 B.C. Jupiter came to a normal stationary position DIRECTLY OVER BETHLEHEM, as viewed from Jerusalem! At precisely this time the planet "stopped" in the middle of the constellation Virgo, the Virgin. The Sun was also "standing still" in its usual Winter Solstice.” --- http://www.creationevidence.org/research_papers/star_beth/starbeth1.html

My General Comments on Jupiter

Jupiter and The December 25th myth:

The last quote above, doesn’t make sense. Jupiter says in each constellation for about 1 year. This  means, it’s movement through the sky, from day to day, is only very slight. Using an online planetarium (www.skyviewcafe.com), I couldn’t tell that Jupiter stopped any more than any previous particular day. I also couldn’t find Jupiter as being ‘directly overhead’ at Jerusalem. What I mean by this, is that if you look at the celestial map of the sky such that ‘North’ is at the top, South at the bottom, like an ‘X-Y’ graph, then ‘directly’over head would be the center point i.e. (0,0) on an X-Y graph (the point where the line between North and South crosses the line between East and West. Jupiter never makes it close to this point. At 4:25am on Dec 25th, Jupiter crosses the North-South line, however, it does so, not at the East-west line, but half-way between the East-west line and the south horizon. That fact is, at 9:21pm on Dec 25th,  Saturn, representative of Satan, actually is closer to this center point.

Jupiter and the feast of Trumpets:

Bible astronomers/logers tend to recognize Jupiter’s involvement with the feast of Trumpets in only 1 of 2 major celestial events. --- Jupiter’s conjunction with the sta ‘regulus’ (in Leo) on the feast of trumpets, 3bc. However, almost all of them (Bob Schlenker, quoted above, is an exception) ignore the most important celestial event ever, the conjunction with the top star of Virgo’s head on the feast of trumpets on 2bc. This is very important because Rev 12:1 says that Virgo was ‘CROWNED’, hence, Jupiter must be on Virgo’s head. The feast of trumpets falls in September or October. You find the feast of Trumpets, using a computer-based planetarium, by looking for the new moon in September.
