Greetings,
Part 3: Mars of the Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter Conjunction
INTRODUCTION
The wisemen recognized the star of Bethlehem. If it, or something similar returns, will any of us be able to find it?
The star of Bethlehem was the most important celestial sign ever. It is my contention that scripture as volumes to say on this. The online planetarium, www.skyviewcafe, (and other computer programs, make it possible for us to see things not seeable by Bible students of yesteryear. Further, the best I can ascertain, it was only until Earnest Martin, within the last 25 years or so, that Christians even started looking at Rev 12:1-3 as corresponding to real celestial events marking the birth of our Saviour. If we are in the endtimes, then perhaps this explains, in part, what the angel told Daniel "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, [even] to the time of the end:" (Dan 12:4). Perhaps the stars can help unseal the book now -- assuming we are 'to the time of the end'.
A BRIEF SUMMARY SO FAR:
My theory is that the 3 'woes' (Rev 8:13) of Rev 8-11 correspond to the 3 planets Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter. It's commonly believed by all bible students, that the 3 woes correspond to the 3 angels, known as the 5th,6th, and 7th angel.
To summarize this mathematically we have:
3 woes = 3 planets (Mercury, Mars, Jupiter) = 3 angels (5th,6th,7th) = Gabriel,Michael,God
It will take many emails to give evidence and credence to this theory. But if it's true, then it should be able to help us understand Revelation in a way never before looked at. For example, perhaps, the locusts and scorpions of Rev 9 correspond to the Cancer and Scorpio constellations. And perhaps, the '5 months' and '1 day, 1 month, and 1 year' periods in Rev 9 correspond to some alignment of the stars.
PART 2 SUMMARY
In part 2, I showed how Mercury was the 1st planet to peel off the 3-planet conjuntion, in Aug/Sept 2bc, and travel down Virgo's head, body, and out of sight. Mercury is the 1st and fastest because it is the 'messenger' represented by John the baptist, Elijah, and Elisha preparing the way of the Lord. Acts 14:12 says Paul was called MERCURIUS because he was 'the chief speaker'. In Revelation, there is one angel that I know of who does any speaking, the angel saying "woe, woe woe" (Rev 8:13) and then the 5th angel appears. This angel is 'flying through the midst of heaven'. So too, in Daniel, there is 1 angel which does most of the talking, he is Gabriel, and so too, Dan 9:21 says: ‘...Gabriel... being caused to fly swiftly'. The 5th angel appears in Rev 9. Hence an important link occurs in chapter 9 of both Daniel and Revelation. It is not a coincidence that Dan 9 matches Rev 9 because you can find many matches between Dan 1 and Rev 1; Dan 2 and Rev 2 etc. Daniel is the 27th book of the Old Test. and Revelation is the 27th of the New Testament.
PART 3: MARS OF THE MERCURY, MARS, AND JUPITER CONJUNCTION
Many Bible students now recognize that Rev 12:1-3 describes the Virgin birth of Christ. 'Michael and his angels' fight 'the dragon and his angels' (Rev 12:7). Rev 12:4 equates the dragon's angels to 'stars':
Rev 12:4 "And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman..."
My point is:
REVELATION 12 REPRESENTS ANGELS AS STARS
MICHAEL IS AN ANGEL IN REVELATION 12
THEREFORE, MICHAEL IS LIKELY REPRESENTED AS A STAR.
A. The easiest way to point out which 'star' (or planet) Michael represents is by process of elimination. Earnest Martin, J.R.Church, and many other Bible Students recognize JUPITER, the KING planet as corresponding to "God". Part 2 of this study gives evidence that Mercury corresponds to Gabriel; hence, the only planet left is Mars, hence, Michael corresponds to Mars.
B. The 6th angel can be equated to Michael and to Mars, is to realize that God is a God of ORDER (as opposed to evolutionary chance). See the order here:
#1. Rev 8/9(1st half) and Dan 9 speak of Gabriel, the 5th angel, Mercury (see: part 2)
#2. Rev 9 (latter half)/10/12 and Dan 10,12 speak of Michael, the 6th angel, and Mars
Rev 9:14 And the sixth angel sounded
Rev 12:7 ...Michael and his angels
Dan 10:13,21 Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me ... but Michael your prince.
Dan 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up,
#3. Rev 10/11/12 and Dan 11/12 speak of God, the 7th angel, and Jupiter (Earnest Martin et.al).
C. Michael can possibly be equated to the 6th angel by comparing a few scriptures.
I THES. 4:16 "..with the voice of the ARCHANGEL, AND THE TRUMP OF GOD.."
Jude 1:9 "Yet Michael the ARCHANGEL..."
If the 7th angel is God, then doesn't it make sense that the 6th angel is the archangel?
D. Michael can possibly be equated to the 6th angel by comparing a few scriptures.
Compare the above 2 verses (I Thes 4:16 and Jude 1:9) with:
Rev 9:14 "Saying to the SIXTH ANGEL WHICH HAD THE TRUMPET
While this isn't bullet proof evidence, it is a good possibility. Assuming that 'the trumpet' in Rev 9:14' is 'the trumpet of God', then the 6th angel is holding it in Rev 9:13, and Michal might be actually blowing it in I The 4:16.
E.
Compare Rev 9:14,18; 10:1,2,5 with I Chron 21:15,16,20 (You really need to read both chapters) as follows:
Rev 9:14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels
Rev 9:18 By these three was the third part of men killed
Rev 10:1 ¶ And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow [was] upon his head, and his face [was] as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire
Rev 10:2 And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and [his] left [foot] on the earth
Rev 10:5 And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven
1Ch 21:15 And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it:1Ch 21:16 And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem.
1Ch 21:20 And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
One can't help notice the matches.
Match#1: In both places, there is an angel standing between earth and heaven.
Match#2: In one place the angel is holding a sword, and in the other, a book. Scripture does compare 'the book' (word of God) to a sword.
Match#3: In one place, there this angel 'loosed' 4 other angels, and in the other place 4 sons hid from the angel.
Match#4: In both places an angel destroyed many people in Jerusalem.
At the end of I Chron 21, David sets up an altar in Ornans' threshing floor. This is where God's tabernacle was --- until Solomon built his temple. In Rev 11:1the 'altar' appears again.
And finally, notice one more piece of the pattern I Chron 21 starts out:
1Ch 21:1 ¶ And Satan stood up against Israel,
So, if I Chron 21 is really a pattern of the events described in Rev 9 to 12, where we find Michael fighting Satan, then we can only conclude that the angel in I Chron 21 and the 6th angel in Rev 9 and 10, is none other than Michael who also appears in Rev 12:7.
