Sidon and Tyre were cities near each other north of Israel. Ezekiel's prophesy about the two cities was different. About Tyre: Ezekiel 26:21 "I will make you a terror [bring you to a dreadful end] and you shall be no more. Though you be sought, yet you shall never be found again, says the Lord God."
 
Today we know only the approximate location of Tyre. The only clues are found in the words of a few ancient writers. Not even a stone remains of the city. See first link below for the amazing prophesy about the complete disappearance of Tyre.
 
Sidon never disappeared and is still there today. It has had a bloody history. The Persians killed most of Tyre's citizens and almost totally destroyed the city, then many battles with Europeans killed many people, then more people were killed during a long war between the Turks and Druses, then another war between the Turks and French. Only one attack has happened during modern times when warships of three nations bombarded Tyre in 1840.
 
About Sidon: Ezekiel 28:21 "Son of man, set your face toward Sidon and prophesy against her." Ezekiel 28:23 "For I will send pestilence into her and blood into her streets, and the wounded shall be judged and fall by the sword in the midst of her on every side, and they shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord [the Sovereign Ruler, Who calls forth loyalty and obedient service]."
 
So Sidon and Tyre were two cities of similar size and near to each other, but HOLY SPIRIT gave different information to Ezekiel about each one. Sidon would have the bloodiest history of any city ever, but continue to exist. The people of Tyre would disappear and the city would disappear. Amazing detail. Possible only by God who knows all things past, present, and future. The Bible is always correct.
