THE WILL TO JUDGEAmerican Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia recently made an extremely ignorant statement. He said, to paraphrase, that judges are no more capable and have no more right to make moral pronouncements than the most miserable sinner in society. His belief divorces morality from judgment and represents one of the root problems of government and justice in America. His is a core tenet of the "secular" government philosophy that rules all the western nations on the eve of the year 2007. Today we see the resultant chaos in France where over one million youth violently protested a simple law that gave employers more flexibility in hiring and firing young people, and in America where 700,000 illegal immigrants protested Congressional attempts to secure American borders. These two disparate events demonstrated the impotence of secular governments. They exposed governments without the will to survive because they lack the will to judge and execute justice morally. Now we will watch both governments cave in to the lawless demands of many who would ruin these countries.
Everyone knows that the most powerful western nations, England, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and America were originally Christian nations (at least after the fall of Caesar’s Rome). Yet, each of these nations has thrown off its Christian heritage over the past few centuries. They have done this in the name of "freedom," i.e. freedom to choose and promulgate sin, and freedom of unbridled economic development. Each western culture found that Christian principles of government restricted their ability to lust, murder, and grow rich in the things of the world. Thus we live in a world of chaos, where half the world consists of Muslims who wish to subjugate the rest of the world under their law, or kill them, and the other half lives in a world that used to be Christian and now has no political will to stand up against the horrors of Muslim Sharia law which, for example, dictates mutilation of hands and arms for simple theft. Neither do the "Christian" nations have the moral will to repent and reign in their own blatant lawlessness and immorality which rules their own lands.
It is in the context of this disintegration of all world societies that God Most High, Father of Jesus the Messiah, now intends to restore His rule and authority. Western culture failed because Christianity itself failed. Oh, the Christian churches still exist, but they only possess a form of godliness; they deny its power. Many churches still pretend to uphold godliness, that is, the righteousness of God, but examine their fruit. Do church elders even meet the moral criteria of Timothy and Titus these days? What do elders and pastors watch on TV and the internet? How do their daughters dress? What do they fill they minds with? Do they raise their children in the fear and admonition of the LORD, or with the worldly wisdom of man in his grand institutions? The old wine skin called the Christian Church is ruined. We cannot put new wine into it.
So, how is it that God will begin to restore His rule and authority? With the manifestation of the sons of God, the righteous judges of the world who will rule with a "rod of iron." With the ones who tremble at God’s Word and serve his only begotten son, Jesus Christ. Here is the word of the LORD to the nations: (Isa 1:25-27 NKJV) "I will turn My hand against you, And thoroughly purge away your dross, And take away all your alloy. {26} I will restore your judges as at the first, And your counselors as at the beginning. Afterward you shall be called the city of righteousness, the faithful city." {27} Zion shall be redeemed with justice, And her penitents with righteousness." Yes, the first resurrection is at hand, the resurrection of God’s overcomers. The overcomers will arise in immortality and bring the world into God’s righteousness and love.
