"Jesus, Jerusalem and Hanukkah"

In the New Testament, John 10:22-28 records the only time the Hebrew Festival of Hanukkah is talked about. The appearing of Jesus in Jerusalem during the winter Hanukkah Festival combined with the conversation between Jesus and the Jewish residents , tells us that Hanukkah has a very important last days prophetic roll to play

Jesus is asked by the crowd to plainly say if He is their long awaited Messiah or not. His answer is quite blunt - to the point. He tells the crowd they are not His sheep, that only His sheep hear His voice and that Jesus knows who His sheep are. We Christian believers in Jesus Christ are the sheep Jesus is refering too

It is interesting that these bible verses in John make the extra effort of pointing out, that it was on the Hanukkah Festival ( Feast of Dedication ) when Jesus relates all the statements in John 10:22-28. Here is their summary :

Christians will hear His voice
Jesus knows his followers
Christians follow Jesus
Jesus gives us eternal life
us believers shall never perish
no one can pluck us out of Jesus's hand

Current world events and Bible prophecy all tell us that very soon Jesus Christ will be returning just as He has promised He would. Soon all Christian believers will hear the Lord's rapture trumpet calling all saved believers heaven-bound. Serve Jesus with all your heart while you still can, daily make an eternal difference for God's Kingdom. Soon you will be walking the golden streets of the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem. Look up - your Redemption draws Near !!!
