"Boy needs your prayers;
and Peggy, you have mine."
First I want to say to Peggy...you dear precious
woman...I am praying for you and Richard...I ask God that this be a major
turning point in your lives and that everything from here on out is downhill.
I ask for prosperity, health, peace and rest for Peggy and Richard...in
abundance! In Jesus Christ's name. Amen.
Dear Doves;
I want to tell you about a wonderful friend of mine and
ask for your prayers. His name is Carter and he is my friend's 17
year old son. He was in a car accident this Christmas weekend.
No one realized he had obtained any injuries until my friend found him
the next morning collapsed on the floor and not breathing.
I believe his heart stopped twice by the time that they got him to the
emergency room. The doctor in emergency told my friend and
her husband that Carter only had a ONE percent chance of surviving.
As they were preparing to admit him to the hospital, a nurse said
"No, I've ordered a helicopter; we are life watching him to KU (Kansas
University) Med Center".
Carter has a head injury. They are extremely impressed
with the medical care he is getting. He is already responding
and should go off of the ventilator tomorrow. They know he can talk
but not sure how much - due to the tubes in his throat.
Normally my friend would not have been home at that time,
but she was then; plus the dog realized there was a problem and started
acting up to get her attention. Consequently, she was able to find
him (what must be) very shortly after he collapsed. Many of the family
members immediately sent out requests for prayers from their churches.
Include the fact that a nurse cared enough to order a helecopter when he
was given no hope, and the fact that he's come so far already....my friend
knows that God is the reason that Carter is alive and very much believes
in the power of prayer. As a side note, I happened to be in
the hospital at the time myself with my dad; and although I did not know
that anything had happened to my friend, God actually placed the thought
in my head several times that my friend might be in the hospital with a
family member and I said a few quick prayers for her.
So I KNOW that God is looking our for her and her family.
However, I am not content to just pray for his survival. In my younger
years, my profession was in the rehabilitation field and I worked with
many families who were care givers for disabled family members. Some
of them had brain injuries from accidents. This kind of situation
is EXTREMELY hard on families.
Please join me in prayer for the COMPLETE recovery of
Carter with NO brain damage at all. I promise I will let you
know how he is doing. Thanks!
