Subject: CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT CHRISTMiadeseree@aol.com
I received this e mail card form a Senator I once wrote to after seeing him on the Bill OReilly show talking about Jesus. I am e mailing it on to one and all as a glimmer of hope that there are those who serve in our government who do believe in Jesus Christ and are not afraid to be politically incorrect. I extend the Blessings of the United Hearts of Jesus and Mary to you and all of those you love.

MERRY CHRISTMAS... FROM SENATOR & MRS. HANK ERWINCHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT CHRIST
By Senator Hank Erwin (R-Montevallo)
There has been a lot of talk across the country about Christmas this year. The big controversy is whether we should even say "Merry Christmas" for fear that it may offend some one.
Well let's set the record straight. Christmas is about Jesus Christ. It's all about Him. We celebrate the day of His birth as a national holiday to remember what His coming means to all of the human race.
First, Christmas means that now once and for all we know who God really is. The ancient world was filled with gods, idols, and spirits just like today. Each country had it's own set of deities. Each country had it's own set of religious demands.
Jesus came to once and for all explain to man who the real God is and what He is really like. He came to reveal the truth of the issue. He proved that the real true God is the God of the Bible. Now we don't have to probe around in the dark trying to find God, Jesus has brought Him into full dazzling clarity.
Second, Christmas also means that now once for all we know how much God loves and cares for us. We don't have to wonder any more whether God loves us or hates us. The Son of God has come to remove that doubt.
Jesus came to live, to love and to die for sins. He came to provide forgiveness for all men wishing to wash away guilty consciences. He came to save men from the penalty of sin and change lives.
Third, Christmas means that there is hope after death. Jesus resurrection from the dead means conclusive evidence that there is life after death. It means that this life is not all there is, but that there is more to come.
Jesus proved by many appearances after death that the life to come was powerful, peaceful and perfect. He proved to us that we need not fear the cold grave because we would rise again to life eternal.
Fourth, Christmas means that the world is in good hands. Jesus demonstrates that God is in control of His creation and moving it right along toward its perfect conclusion.
Jesus proved that history is being guided by the unseen hand of a loving God who will bring glory to His name when time is finished. Christians are the only ones who know the final outcome of history. They know that we win in the end.
So when one finally grasps the significance of those ideas, one can not help but become bursting with joy. Jesus brings the true Christmas spirit of love, joy and peace. It's the reason for the season.
We celebrate a sweet little baby born in a manger every December, but He is more than a baby, He is a King born for truth, love, hope and joy and we have every incentive to proclaim Christmas as a special day of the year.
So I say to one and all "Merry Christmas and peace on earth good will to men."
