Palestinians Attempt To Eradicate Israel’s Temple History
In the most blatant attempt in a long strain of efforts to deny Israel ever had a Temple on the Temple Mount, the Palestinian Authority’s Office of Religious Affairs just claimed that the Western Wall (aka ‘the Wailing Wall’) is Moslem property.

The Western Wall is the last remnant of both Solomon’s Temple, which was destroyed by the Babylonians in the 6th Century BC, and the Second Temple, which was destroyed by the Roman Tenth Legion under Titus in AD70.

In the lowest part of what was actually a retaining wall for the Temple platform, huge stones with neat borders remain from Solomon’s days. Then on the top of these are smaller, less ornate stones that were installed at the time of the building of the Second Temple.

The Western Wall is the only part of the Temple area that was left standing after the Romans thoroughly destroyed every vestige of the Temple platform while quelling a Jewish Rebellion in AD-132-135.

According to Rabbi Chaim Richman, Director of the Temple Institute in Jerusalem, as quoted in the Arutz 7 website said, “Islam has for many years been waging a campaign to destroy any evidence of a Jewish presence on the Temple Mount. He cited efforts by the PA and the Moslem Wakf (religious trust) to carry out excavations on the Temple Mount for the purpose of destroying artifacts relating to the First and Second Temples. He said that thousands of tons of archeological material has already been deliberately destroyed by the wakf.”

I know this to be true first hand. While I was taking pictures of the Temple area for my book, A Prophetical Walk Through The Holy Land in 1983, I photographed some stones that according to Israeli archeologist Dr. Asher Kaufman’s calculations were part of the northwest corner stones of the Second Temple.

Many people visiting there got excited about the evidence. This immediately drew the attention of the wakf Mosque guards. The next day, the entire area was covered over with fresh dirt and planted with roses.

At right is a picture of the area I photographed prior to that.

Richman rightly observed, “The PA’s claims to Muslim ownership of the Western Wall has far reaching implications for Israel.” He said, “The PA’s denial of the Jewish Temple’s existence ‘is part of a campaign to totally eradicate, erase, and destroy all Jewish connection to the Temple Mount, Jerusalem, and the land of Israel.’”

The PA believes that if they can destroy any evidence of Jewish claims to their Temple being on the Mount that they strengthen their case for claiming ownership of not only the Temple Mount, but also to Jerusalem and ultimately the rest of Israel. Since most of the Western powers seeking to force Israel into concessions to the PA are either ignorant of or non caring about the true history of this religiously imperative issue, the PA has an easy case to make – that is if the true Christians remain silent and let them get away with their twisting of both Biblical and secular history.

While speaking to my tour in Rome at the ancient Forum site, I pointed out some corroborating evidence of the Jewish Second Temple being destroyed in AD70. Clearly carved into the Arch of Titus that celebrated his victory over Jerusalem are images of the Temples great candelabra and other Temple implements that are carefully described in the Bible as part of the Temple worship. This is evidence that not even the most avid Muslim can destroy.

Muslim’s claim to the Western Wall is based on the oral tradition that Mohammad tied his horse, Al Borag, there on the night he ascended from the Temple platform to heaven, thus making it sacred. This account is not found in the Koran, but was added to Muslim oral tradition after Mohammad’s death. So the Muslim call it Al Borag’s Wall.

Bible prophecy demands that Israel will build a Temple again on the Mount. It is fascinating to speculate on just what momentous events will be required to make that possible. All I know is that it will be built and Israel will retain control of Jerusalem in the Tribulation.

Time is growing short. It is time to finish up on the things you want to do before we are caught up to meet the Lord Jesus in the clouds of heaven. It is coming soon. Be ready
