Dear Doves, I'm brazilian and I know all about this church denomination, called IGREJA UNIVERSAL DO REINO DE DEUS (IURD).It is all over Brazil and in many countries now.It has had many scandals, for since its early years its leaders are accused of pushing too hard in order to get money from its members.They also have weird practices, like praying with a cup of water, or going to Jerusalem do burn sins in a camp fire.Notwithstanding it is a christian denomination, with faults like most of them have (plenty). It may be considered a cult, like the adventists, but I'm not sure about it.Anyway, I'm writing this just because there is something I'd like to share with my fellow Doves.I feel that, even though such church has its faults (many), the real reason it is being attacked in Africa is because their expertise is exorcism.Yes, in Brazil IURD has freed lots of people from african cults like candomble, ubamda, quimbanda, so on and so forth. The first thing they do is to expel demons from enslaved people.So, I think that IURD is really annoying the devil out there in Africa, for most of the people there are involved with vodoo and other satanic religions, and that is why their are being attacked so heavily over there.If they were just another dull church, I'm sure there would be no problem whatsoever.In Christ, Luiz Eduardo.
