I agree with Richard when he said, "There is no way for me to 'get cleaner' by any effort of my own. That would put me under The Law, self-effort, which is death."   Well said, Richard.

A quote from the respected pastor Dr. Roy Hicks addresses this beautifully, and always comes to mind (paraphrased): "If the blood of Jesus is not enough to cleanse you, then starvation, torture or getting your head chopped off won't do it either."  (If someone has the exact wording, please let me know.)

The blood is sufficient.  There is nothing we can add to it.  It is finished.

"For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified" (Hebrews 10:14, KJV).

If I am wrong about the pre-trib rapture and have to go through the entire tribulation, from beginning to end, I will not be one bit more pure at the end than I am right now.
