Mosaic Tiles In Greek Reveal: "Christ Was Born Here"

In 1981, archeologists uncovered a mosaic tile inscription written in Greek that said, "Christ Was Born Here!" Their find was not in the Church of the Nativity, but in the ruins of a fourth-century Byzantine church about a half a mile northeast of the church, on a hill overlooking the historic "shepherds’ fields." Israeli archeologists believe it was the site of Bethlehem Ephratah, the home of Boaz, and the "tower of the flock." Note the panoramic photo of the site, showing underground rooms, and a millstone.
