Javier Solana -- Europe's Uber Fuhrer?
Briefly stated, the Bible predicts the rise of a global superpower in the last days, consisting at its core of a ten-nation confederacy arising out of the ashes of the old Roman Empire.
During the Tribulation period, it will be led by a Satanically-energized super 'fuhrer' who will negotiate a peace settlement between Israel and the 'many'.
That European leader will be the most powerful the world has ever known, so powerful that he will exercise control over the whole world, and his control mechanism so intimate that no man will be able to buy or sell without being part of his system.
His system is a combination of economics and worship, and during his reign of terror, Christians and Jews will be persecuted and killed to eradicate any physical remnant of God, most probably under the guise of stamping out religious fundamentalism.
With that in mind, the EU's uber Fuhrer, Javier Solana, has decided that the EU will play the main role of peace broker between Israel and the Palestinians, in his words, "whether they [Israel] like it or not."
Solana says that the conflict is holding up his plans for the EU's 'Middle East Neighborhood Policy' which envisions bringing all the Middle East together in a massive free trade zone that would also include Israel.
The program, also known as the Euro-Med policy, offers free access to goods, services, people and capital to countries outside the European Union in exchange for economic and political reform. Other countries also slated to attain this status are Moldova, Ukraine, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia and the Palestinian Authority.
After top European Union officials met separately with Israeli and Palestinian foreign ministers this week, Solana said the PalestinianJanuary 9 election would prove a landmark for the Middle East peace process.
"How many people expected after the 11th of November (when Arafat died) that there would be chaos in Palestine? What we are seeing now... is a society that wants to move forward," he told a news conference.
"Israel is cooperating now and I have no doubt that the election will be well done, will be free and fair, and will give a serious interlocutor to talk to Israel... to have that reality (of the roadmap to peace)," he said.
But Solana and Dutch Foreign Minister Ben Bot took issue with a call by Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom for the EU to take a "more balanced attitude" to the Middle East conflict.
"I'm not sure what Minister Shalom means because so far we have been extremely balanced in our approach," said Bot, whose country hosted the "Euromed" meeting of EU and Mediterranean countries.
To prove just how 'balanced' the EU is in its approach to Israel, Solana added: "We play a role, whether our good friend Mr. Shalom would like it or not."
Assessment:
On November 27, 1995, the Barcelona Conference was convened by then-Spanish Foreign Minister (and also then-president of the EU) Javier Solana.
The conference is sometimes referred to by European sources as "Common Strategy on the Mediterranean Region." Participants were 15 EU countries, and 12 Middle East and North African countries. The United States reportedly requested participant status, but was only granted observer status.
The Barcelona Process (also known as the Barcelona Treaty or the Barcelona Declaration), developed by the Conference over its successive annual meetings, is a set of goals designed to lead to a free trade zone in the Middle East by 2010. Its initial agenda was the following:
1) Battling religious fundamentalism worldwide;
2) Achieving mutually satisfactory trading terms for the region's partners, the "region" consisting of the countries that participated;
3) Eliminating or greatly reducing United States presence in the Mediterranean.
Since the opening of the first conference, various "Treaties of Association" between the European Union and Middle East countries have been incorporated as part and parcel of the process, including but not limited to the Treaty of Association between the European Union and Israel, signed by Javier Solana and Shimon Peres on November 20, 1995 and finally ratified on June 1, 2000.
Those treaties, including the EU-Israel one, were reconfirmed at the 9th conference in June 2004. When Ariel Sharon said he would exclude the EU from the peacemaking process in July, 2004, Solana responded that "like it or not, the EU is on board."
That pretty much sums up Solana's political perspective, particularly, but not exclusively, when it involves Israel. 'Like it or not' the EU will do its will.
Javier Solana is sixty-two years old, born in Madrid in 1942. A dedicated Socialist, the most revealing affiliation in his resume, apart from the Socialist party, is membership in the Spanish chapter of the Club of Rome.
The Club of Rome is actually a German-based global think tank that describes itself on its website as being an association of "scientists, economists, businessmen, international high civil servants, heads of state and former heads of state from all five continents who are convinced that the future of humankind is not determined once and for all [a deliberate slap at God] and that each human being can contribute to the improvement of our societies."
Its current president is the Crown Prince of Jordan. Among its members are Mikhail Gorbachev and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Its members, professors and politicians from Portugal to Pakistan, and from Finland to Hawaii. About the only country not represented is Israel.
On November 30, 1995, Solana was appointed as NATO Secretary General. His election was a surprise to many, including 52 United States congressmen who telegraphically protested his appointment because of his alleged Marxism and open Castro sympathies. Solana had once been listed as a subversive by the US government.
He was best known in his youth as one of Spain's most vocal and most prominent opponents of NATO. Solana, Secretary-General of NATO from 1995 to 1999, ironically (or maybe NOT so ironically) came to prominence after he authored a pamphlet entitled, "Fifty Reasons to Say No to NATO."
Solana turned what had been a largely ceremonial job into a role usually suited to a head of state.
In 1999, Solana was given sole power to make all military decisions over NATO operations in the Balkans. This included whether NATO should bomb Yugoslavia.
Solana's NATO term was to have expired in December, 1999; however, he left that job two months early, in October 1999, to take the newly created position of Office of the High Representative of the Common Foreign and Security Policy.
He was also given the title and responsibility of Secretary General of the European Union; this was for the purpose of giving continuity between the EU's 6 month rotating presidential administrations. These positions caused Solana to be generally described by the European press as "tsar of European military and foreign policy."
On November 20, 1999, Javier Solana was also selected by the ten-nation core of the Western European Union (WEU) to be its pending Secretary General, pending unification with the European Union.
On June 5, 2000, the ten nation WEU in its Assembly Recommendation 666 noted that under its governing treaties, complete merger could not occur.
As a compromise, they supported a proposal to have the WEU Secretary General and CFSP High Representative (both Solana) preside over the PSC (Political Security Committee) and convene the council of the European Union in the event of an emergency, as was done following the Madrid train bombings in March.
Javier Solana presides over Europe's Political Security Committee (PSC).
All seated on that committee hold ambassador rank in the EU and serve at the pleasure of Javier Solana. All foreign ambassadors of the European Union entity (as opposed to its individual countries) as well as all EU military personnel are ultimately accountable to the Council of the European Union through Javier Solana.
Solana is also actively seeking to take over the permanent seats on the UN Security Council now held by EU member states Great Britain and France.
A majority of this information comes from Wikpedia and various EU and WEU websites, but it reads like it could have been a rewording of Hal Lindsey's "Late Great Planet Earth."
Specifically, the chapter headed, "Future Fuhrer."
I am not saying Javier Solana is the antichrist. I don't know who the antichrist is, and 2nd Thessalonians 2:8 teaches we will be taken by the Rapture before 'that Wicked is revealed.'
What I do know is that Javier Solana has set the stage for whoever that 'Wicked' one is. He has created a base of power that is only shades of degrees less powerful than that described by the Apostle John.
That base of power is concentrated exactly where Daniel said it would be -- among the ten full members of the Western European Union. The WEU is EU's 'muscle' and is in charge of collective security. NATO is in charge of Europe's Defense.
In Javier Solana, we find one man in control of all three.
If he can gain control of a permanent seat on the Security Council, (including its veto power) it will make him the most powerful man on earth -- bar none.
Remember the three main goals of the November, 1995 Barcelona Conference.
Javier Solana is dedicated to the destruction of religious fundamentalism -- a popular goal that America itself is actively engaged in -- one given emergency status in the wake of 9/11.
'Euromed' is part of a process that both expands his influence and meets the secondary goal of reducing the US presence in the Middle East.
Solana's goal is to exclude the US from any role in the Arab-Israeli peace process. The Bible makes no mention of any role for America in the events of the Tribulation Period or the last days.
What the Bible DOES tell us is, 'when these things BEGIN to come to pass, we are to look up, for our redemption draws near.' (Luke 21:28)
Again, I don't know who the antichrist is -- I am looking for the Christ.
But just as we know when the calendar marks Thanksgiving that Christmas is just around the corner, we know that, if we see the stage set FOR the antichrist, the return of the Lord for His Church is likewise just around the corner.
This is stunning information. It suggests that corner is about to be turned.
