"SECOND TEMPLE & MILLENIAL
TEMPLE MEASUREMENTS"
Dear John & Doves,
In my 11/16 2nd reply
to Sherry Vance at http://www.fivedoves.com/letters/nov2004/donnad1116-8.htm
I stated that the measurements for the first temple built by King Solomon
were given in 1 Kings 6 and in 2 Chronicles 3 while the measurements for
the Millenial Temple can be found in Ezekiel 41 & 42, but I didn't
know of any scripture that gave the measurements of the Second Temple unless
she could come up with the scripture. However, over this past week
while reading the book of Ezra, I found the measurements of the Second
Temple in Ezra 6:3 so I thought I would bring it to everyone's attention
as well.
There is also a very
interesting article about the Second Temple and the Millenial Temple athttp://www.templeinstitute.org/future_temple.htm
which I thought you might be interested in reading. It states
"According to Ezekiel's measurements, the new Temple will be so large that
it will occupy the entire area of the city of Jerusalem." Ezekiel
42:20 tells us that the walls around the Millenial Temple were 500 reeds
long by 500 reeds wide which is 4,500 feet by 4,500 feet. That is
less than one mile which is 5,280 feet. Here also is a picture of
Jerusalem in Roman times at http://www.templemount.org/jerusmap.html
that shows the Temple Mount and a scale
in feet on the map. From the map it looks like the 4 walls that will
surround the Millenial Temple in the future would encompass most if not
all of the Jerusalem shown on this map in Roman times. I hadn't realized
before that the walls surrounding the temple would take in that large sized
area.
God bless,
Donna
