"Satan, the fallen angels, and the Revelation 12 sign"

Was recently reading Revelation and was wondering how to decipher Revelation 12 specifically:

And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars. And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads. And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throneAnd the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

We all know that the astronomical sign is coming up on September 23rd, but part of that verse seems to have been fulfilled--it sounds like Satan was wanting to devour Jesus by working through Herod. When Herod found out about the birth of the Messiah, he immediately had all children aged 2 and under killed, so that seems to fit the prophecy. Jesus also ascended to the throne--he said he had to go so that the comforter, the Holy Spirit could come. I've heard people say that it's talking about the church, but not sure I can reconcile all of that.

So if that part was from the past, could Satan drawing 1/3 of the angels to the earth have happened already too? The following is from a question / answer website--I wanted to know if the 1/3 of angels is mentioned anywhere else:

Sometime after their creation, and most certainly after the sixth day when everything was declared “very good” (Genesis 1:31), Satan rebelled and was cast out of heaven. “How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!” (Isaiah 14:12). Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven” (Luke 10:18), and in the book of the Revelation Satan is seen as “a star that had fallen from the sky to the earth” (Revelation 9:1).

We are also told that one third of an “innumerable company of angels” (Hebrews 12:22) chose to rebel with him. John saw this great wonder in heaven, “…an enormous red dragon…His tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and flung them to the earth…the great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him” (Revelation 12:3–9).

I originally thought Revelation was chronological because the seventh seal leads to the first trumpet and the seventh trumpet leads to the seven bowls/vials. There's that number again 777. Seems like Revelation chapter 12 might be an overall picture of the events of the age. Just curious to hear anyone's feedback?
