"Ten Commandments of the FP"

Dear Doves,

Apparently God’s Ten Commandments are “too much”, “too hard”, or “not necessary” to follow. No worries…people will have no problem following the FP’s Ten Commandments.

http://news.yahoo.com/pope-10-commandments-happiness-170500681--politics.html

FP’s Ten Commandments in quotes, my comments on them are in brackets and bolded:

1. “Live and let live.” [tolerate all evil, say nothing]

2. “Be giving of yourself to others…If you withdraw into yourself, you run the risk of becoming egocentric. And stagnant water becomes putrid.” [is the vatican egocentric?]

3. “Proceed calmly [in life].” [how, when lawlessness and corruption are rampant and the world is falling apart?]

4. “A healthy sense of leisure … Consumerism has brought us anxiety, causing us to lose a healthy culture of leisure.” (On this point, the pope also urged families to turn off the TV when they’re eating together.) [thanks to the AC, there are way fewer jobs, so leisure time has increased, and no salaries equals less consumerism]

5. “Sunday is for family.” [can a family choose the day they want for ‘family day’?]

6. “We need to be creative with young people. If they have no opportunities, they will get into drugs.” [see #4 above…plus you might worry about what your priests are doing with the “young people”]

7. “Environmental degradation is one of the biggest challenges we have. I think a question that we’re not asking ourselves is: ‘Isn’t humanity committing suicide with this indiscriminate and tyrannical use of nature?’” [funny how the top elites who fly all over the world constantly and use the most energy, are the ones who claim to be worried about the environment]

8. “Needing to talk badly about others indicates low self-esteem. That means, ‘I feel so low that instead of picking myself up I have to cut others down.’ Letting go of negative things quickly is healthy.” [yeah, if we talk badly about our thieving politicians it’s because we have low self esteem]

9. “We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: ‘I am talking with you in order to persuade you.’ No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.” [whatever you do, don’t tell the good news of the coming Kingdom of Christ and His salvation through grace, to anyone!]

10. “We are living in a time of many wars, [and] the call for peace must be shouted. Peace sometimes gives the impression of being quiet, but it is never quiet, peace is always proactive.” [“when they say peace and security…”]

Well, I must say, this ravening wolf’s ten commandments appear to be a whole lot easier than God’s.

YsiChrist,

Patty RP
