Hi Doves,
We read,
"Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to him..." [2 Thess. 2:1]
Many are making the erroneous assumption that the "coming" and the "gathering" are two separate days, they are not!
The Lord is coming to gather unto Himself all those that love Him.
The Lord's coming and our being gathered to Him are referring to the same day.
Over the years we have been led to believe that Paul had two days in view.
Once this error has been established every thing else in this passage of scripture is then interpreted wrong.
"Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day [what Day? the Day the Lord comes to gather use to Himself] will not come unless the falling away comes first..." [2 Thess.2:3]
The falling away is referring to all those in the Church who fall away from a living faith in Christ.
I'm going to let the Word tell us who are those in the Church who have fallen away.
For the reality is that they don't even realise they've departed from a living faith in Christ.
How could this be possible?
How could one depart from the truth faith and not know it?
Very simply by accepting a lie as true doctrine.
What is this lie that has been widely accepted as truth in the Church today?
It's that a person can exclude the practise of righteousness from their day to day life and still proclaim to have a faith in Christ.
The Lord called such people "workers of iniquity"
"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?"
"And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you depart from me, ye that work iniquity." [Matt.7:22,23]
"Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able."
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut the door, and ye begin to stand without [outside], and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:
"Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence [the Lord's Supper], and thou hast taught in our streets."
"But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity." [Luke 13:24 -27]
The word "iniquity" in the above verses comes from the Greek word "adikia" and it means "unrighteousness"
Now we know who the Lord is calling "workers of iniquity" in the Church.
I urge everyone to read the following words very carefully, for they are a prophetic prayer the Lord wants us to offer up to Him in these last days of deception and delusion.
"Oh continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You,
"And Your righteousness to the upright in heart,
"Let not the foot of pride come against me,
"And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
"There the workers of iniquity have fallen;
"They have been cast down and are not able to rise." [Psalm 36:10 - 12]
The word "iniquity" in the above verse comes from the Hebrew word "aven" and it means to be "unrighteous"
In the Church today there are many Pastors, Teachers, Prophets and Evangelists that are actually workers of iniquity.
They have been led to believe that the practising of righteousness from day to day in their private lives is not important.
They are depending on their public ministry to get them accepted by the Lord.
They have fallen away and through their teachings they are leading millions into the Great tribulation to be chastised.
