"In the presence of the virgin..."

Hello, John and Doves,

Here's a thought to pick up your spirits as we await the final boarding call for that last flight out.

In the presence of the virgin, the unicorn is tame.  In fact, when it approaches this pure young woman, it bows its head in homage, and it falls asleep in her lap.
But, watch out!  In battle, the unicorn is fierce!
So runs the wisdom of Man.

But it is written,
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and discard the intelligence of the intelligent."
                        1 Corinthians 1:19, Isaiah 29:14

In Isaiah, God warns the nations of the earth of their impending doom.  Of Edom [a type of each one of the anti-Christian nations of our day], the Almighty says,

Isaiah 34:7--And the unicorns [fierce warriors] shall come down with them [the host of Edom, et al.], and the bullocks with the bulls [young men and veterans]; and their land [Edom, et al.] shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness [they shall be eviscerated].

Isaiah 34:8--For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences [payback--think Mel Gibson, but much worse] for the controversy of Zion [eretz Israel].

Baruch HaShem YHWH,
