Quick summary: The “Restitution of All Things” is restoring the former state before the fall of man, before he comes. Who teaches such things today? Well Jesus did, and the prophets from the beginning did! We must first understand is; God had an ultimate dream and it was that Man and Women would walk as ONE in Him with the "choice to choose good over evil. Adam and Eve fell short, and God's dream has not been yet been fulfilled. Acts 3:21 Tell us…. And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.Gods ultimate dream will be fulfilled before this great and dreadful day of the lord. Man and women will walk with him as ONE flesh where choice is still an option! What started in the garden 1000's of years ago with choice, will end in the garden with choice! The garden of Eden was not a failure, God did not make a mistake putting Adam and Eve the garden, God will prove to all of mankind and creation that ultimately man and women will overcome and prevail through the finished work of the cross and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit what started in the garden will end in the garden, this is what Jesus meant by restore all things, and this must happen before the tribulation. In this study we look for a prophetic pattern found in Luke 9 for the bride of Christ to follow in healing, preaching the kingdom of Heaven and also 100% is made for them on the journey! This is glimpse, a peek into what is to come, a type of "Times of Refreshing" and possibly moving in part of the "Restoration of All Things". God' ultimate dream will be fulfilled where man and women will walk with him as one flesh, choosing holiness and righteousness, and they will walk in a restored state, This is the bride of Christ, the overcomers, who can be found in Rev 2:7 who eat from the tree of life in the Paradise of God.
The Times of Refreshing & Restoration- a pattern for the bride of Christ found in Luke 9.
We see the twelve disciples enter into a type of refreshing in Luke 9, we even get a glimpse of the disciples walking and moving in part of the "restoration" process. Remember patterns and similitudes in the scriptures are considered prophecy; Hosea 12:10. So when we look at the footsteps of Jesus, who is the head of the bride body, then we know that his bride body will follow a blueprint pattern!
We can look for patterns with Jesus first, because he is the head, and then look at the disciples, because they too show us prophetic patterns of things to come, furture fulfillment! ( Hosea 12:10) that the bride will walk and move in.
In Luke 9:1, Jesus gives power to the disciples, which are his closest followers, his students of his word, these are also his inner circle, those who have forsaken all to follow him. Take note, he did not give power to all the multitudes that he taught and found salvation through him; but He gave power to the disciples which were his students, they were those he knew, those who listened and those who obeyed him. These are those he gave power and authority over Satan and disease ( these are the remnant the residue) Luke 9:1 Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. here we see a pattern a possible type of similitude for a type of "times of refreshing".
Luke 9 also falls into the same category as we previously mentioned in Acts 3. and Malachi 4 where we see healing and restoration and the kingdom of God is preached: Luke 2:9 2And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
What is also interesting in Luke 9:3, we see the disciples moving in God’s complete provision for them, needing nothing, this is the provision of all bountiful, El Shaddai that we talked about previously. Again this is a type of the Garden glory bounty provision, where the Lord provides and supplies all ones needs! Jesus said they would need nothing for their journey! Luke 9:3And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
The disciples had power given to them by Jesus, they walked in the El Shaddai provision and took dominion over sickness and disease, over all who received them! This clearly a model and type of pattern the "times of refreshing" for the bride to walk in prior to the catching away/rapture, this is what Jesus spoke of in Math 17, Mark 9 and Peter spoke of in Acts 3:19-21! 6And they departed, and went through the towns, preaching the gospel, and healing every where.
The disciples walked in the power of Elijah and Jesus, again pointing to a future fulfillment. Notice many thought the disciples were Elijah or John the Baptist, we know they were not Elijah, nor John, but they moved in repentance and signs and wonders! 7Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him: and he was perplexed, because that it was said of some, that John was risen from the dead; 8And of some, that Elias had appeared; and of others, that one of the old prophets was risen again. 9And Herod said, John have I beheaded: but who is this, of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see him.
Notice by verse 10 of Luke 9 that the 12 disciples had graduated to apostleship, they no longer were just disciples of the lord, but moving in apostlship. And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. Apostleship means in the Greek a messenger who is sent forth or delegated with order: (G649)1) a delegate, messenger, one sent forth with orders. The bride of Christ has been in discipleship, and has come into some of the things the disciples walked in, but not 100% of this El Shaddai, all bounty, 100% healing sickness and disease, there is still a future fulfillment for these "times" to come, the "times of refreshing is still before us!
The now apostles but still ever learning disciples continue to move in the dominion that he provides for them in the feeding of the 5000. The loaf of barley bread is multiplied in the hands of the disciples/apostles! Jesus blesses it! But Jesus told the disciples to feed the multitude, and the bread was multiplied in their hands as they passed it out to the people! 13But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people. 14For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company. 15And they did so, and made them all sit down. 16Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude. 17And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
Glorification, Transfiguration on the Mount, a pattern for the bride prior to catching away/rapture.
Following the feeding of the 5000, Jesus takes his inner circle of 3 up to a mountain where he is transfigured, and was glorified before them. Jesus was glorified on this earth before he ascended, here again another pattern and model for the bride to follow. We know based on Acts 3:19-21 that we are coming into "the time of refreshing" and restoration (Acts 3, Mathew 17, Mark 9, Mal 4). What happened with Jesus at the mount? Jesus was restored and refreshed back to a type of his former glory, he was transfigured, and changed. 28And it came to pass about an eight days after these sayings, he took Peter and John and James, and went up into a mountain to pray. 29And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering. Here is a perfect type and model for the bride of Christ, a changing, glorification and transfiguration before ascension! Again this is so important and it is key because what the head Jesus does, the bride will do too, he is the head we are the body! Col 1:18, Eph 5:30 There will come a day, in the times of refreshing that the bride body will walk in the times of refreshing, restoration and transfigured state as he did, prior to the catching away/rapture... why, because Jesus says so! Peter says so in Acts! 3:19-21!
Notice in Mathew 17 when Jesus spoke of these times to the disciples,
Mat 17:11 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things
Jesus was transfigured on the Mount, and following his transfiguration, he speaks to them about the "restoring of all things"! Transfiguration, and the ministry of Elijiah go hand in hand, as well as the possible time-frame for this to happen..Tabernacles!s
To explore a little further for the pattern for the bride, look at the possible time frame of this transfiguration and glorification. Could Luke 9 lay out not only a pattern for the bride, but a time frame for the bride, perhaps there is a hint for us and a time frame, and a glimps based on the two prophets that show up on the mount of transfiguration. Luke 9: 30And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias: Moses and Elijah.
Question, are these the two witnesses that will also appear again at the time frame for the bride body of for Jesus to be glorified? I believe this is an excellent model pattern for the bride! The word tells us that there is coming a times of refreshing, and that Elijah will come and restore all things! We can expect as the overcoming bride body to walk in a refreshed restored state, and many may not see his glory upon us all the time, we will have been changed surely if we have been refreshed and restored, and clearly his scriptures tells us we will be changed and will also bear the image of the heavenly. 2Cr 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord. And 1Cr 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
When might the times of refreshing and the restoration of all things begin? Is there types and models for this found in the scripture? Yes, The Feast Tabernacles? Luke 9:33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said. 34While he thus spake, there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and they feared as they entered into the cloud. 35And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
