Do your prayers hinder your Faith in God?

Trust is believing God CAN
is believing God WILL

Many times we pray to God about a certain matter and we know He CAN take care of this issue, but aren't sure He WILL. God is all powerful and CAN do ANYTHING. Most Christians have no problem believing that. If we are having money problems, He has unlimited resources to provide for us. If someone is sick, He is totally capable of healing their body, even better than before they got sick. The Bible specifically says He will do whatever we ask, provided we are a Christian and abiding by his commands:

John 15:7 - If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

Mark 11:24 - Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Matthew 7:7-11
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!

John 14:14 - You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

1 John 3:21-24
Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

So, why do our prayers go unanswered? Because we put a limitation on the prayer that hinders our faith. We present our requests to him and then pray “if it's Your will”. It's impossible to have FAITH in prayers we think might not be his will. The Bible clearly states it is His Will to provide for His children and answer their requests. If you are in a true relationship with Christ, you will automatically know when you are considering something that is against His will. Some things are as obvious as praying for a $150,000 sports car, but other things may need to be revealed by the Spirit. If we feel wrong in praying for something, we shouldn't be praying for it to start with. If the Spirit is not indicating it's wrong, we should pray believing it is his will and have faith that God will answer that prayer.

Have you ever prayed for a friend or family member to become a Christian, but thought to yourself they never will? So why are you wasting your time praying for them? If you don't believe they will ever turn around, you have no faith in God. Every person has free will, but God is plenty capable of opening their eyes and putting situations in their path that will turn them to Him. He could give them a nightmare that would show them what hell is really like... or a euphoric dream of how much better being with God is than the drugs they rely on. God has absolutely no limitations.

Believe in what you are praying for and stop using “his will” as a limitation of your Faith.
