"The Day of the Lord is twofold"

The Day of the Lord is twofold-
(Having or consisting of more than one part.)
2Thessalonians 2:3
Let no man decieve you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, (open to view: displayed, exhibited) the son of Perdition.

Some of the phrases pertaining to the Antimessiah:
Man of Sin
Son of Perdition
Lawless One
Are pointing to the time frame that he operates in.
Why do I believe that?
2 Thessalonians 2: 10, 11
10And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.
Delusion: Something that is believed to be true or real, but that is actually false.
And remember the vese states that it's a strong delusion not a weak one.
Back to the phrases-
Sin: An offense against religion or moral law.
Perdition: Utter destruction.
Lawless: Not restrained or controlled by law; unruly.
Would the World be content or deceived with a man having those attributes?
Those characteristics first point to the time-frame that the Antimessiah operates in.  It will be a chaotic time and the world will be in hopes of restoring order.
You can already see we are clearly in the beginning of it today.
The Arab perdition.
Mass protests throughout Europe.
UK riots and fires.
Youth lawlessness in many cities in U.S. just beginning.
Much discontment with all forms of government coupled with grave economic austerity measures.

The Day of the Lord first part is the falling away.
When times are prosperous what do you have in church?
Lukewarmness, Complacency, and many that are Backsliding.
When times are severe, grave and subject to persecution, what do you have in the church? Well if we just left off with a lukewarm, complacent, backsliding body of christ, I think it would be safe to say, in a time of real persecution, they would turn on one-another and definetly fall away.
That's what we're about to see.

Make sure your foundation is strong, secure, and put on the whole armour of God.
1Thessalonians 5:3
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
I don't believe the escape comes at the beginning.
I don't think he'll rapture pre-trib.

God Bless,
Gail
