Dale,  thank you so much for sharing your story of the heron.  I had a hard time sleeping last night just thinking about what you wrote.  You and Fay have been blessed to experience these encounters with a heron and then passing that blessing on to all  the Doves.  I told Henry about his relatives this morning ......... smiling!!
 
By the way, I googled Ardea herodias.  For those Doves that didn't Ardea means" heron" in Latin,  Herodias means "heron" in Greek.  Heron heron.
 
Okay Dale, what about your last name????  Is it pronounced Heron????.........  Shivers!!
