Good thoughts in your post on Five Doves regarding 77 Generations From God.  I had this thought about the name variations you pointed out in the two lists.  In ancient times it wasn't uncommon for people to have name changes, i.e. Abram-Abraham, Sarai-Sarah, Simon-Peter, Saul-Paul and so forth.  This practice of changing names might explain a lot.
