Very well said!  And I just had to laugh when you said, “Could you imagine if Pastor John Hagee came out with a sermon entitled, "Christ returns on September 23, 2015", how the media would be all over that.”  Pretty funny!  I also chuckled at your comment, “A jubilee that was apparently cherry picked?”
