"To Chrissa re: Heart racing"
Per other input from Doves, specifically
Deborah's, so many things can cause your heart to 'race'. When I was
having an irregular heart beat, *it was beating much faster than my
usually very SLOW rate, then doing three quick beats, a long pause,
then some fast ones again*. I was checked out for a heart attack (my
mom died of a heart attack at 38). Nope, not having one. They ran every
test, they said everything was within 'normal' levels. I reminded then
that I'd never been (by any definition of the word), 'normal'. heh.
Seriously, when I was 267lbs, I had low blood pressure, a resting heart
rate as low as 56...etc. So, the doc said, 'it sounds like you have low
potassium, but you are in the lower normal range'. He decided to go
ahead and give me some, since it wouldn't hurt me. Immediate 'fix'.
One
thing I did find, whenever I have those bouts, I can either gently push
on the front of my throat (on the jugular) for a couple of counts, or
(and this sounds silly), strain, as if you are having a bowel movement.
For whatever reason, it regulates my heart. Now, please, don't try
anything without checking with your doctor!! I'm just giving you my
experiences to show you that like Deborah, it can be something as
simple as a deficiency of something common. I guess I just wanted to
reassure you that it's not always as bad or scary as we fear...and that
the fear/worry (especially over something to do with our hearts), can
add to the problem. Stress can really do a job on our chemical/hormonal
systems.
I hope by now you've seen a doctor and will be reporting to us the simple, effective 'cure'.
Blessings~
