"Thank you Insasmuch!"
It was quite a shock to have such a fall
out with people I'd known online and in person for almost 7 years. I
was never into the 'political' discussions that our group (which
started as a fan group for a tv show that was canceled) had devolved
into. I'd always just 'voted pro-life'. For me that was a baseline,
since it was a surefire way of knowing where a person stood on all
issues.
I was told if I couldn't give 'good reasons' for not
'liking' Obama, I was a racist. This coming from people who had claimed
to be Christian (both Protestant & Catholic). Another friend and I
had both got 'bad feelings' from Obama right off...we just 'knew'.
I
agree with what you've posted. Too many people who claim for Christ
don't even know Him. It's scary. My kids were very active in Youth
Group growing up, they are amazed at the state of their old group of
friends, and even the pastors and youth pastors (adultry, addictions,
divorce, etc). It's sad and very frightening that the things you
thought were solid were not.
Both my friend and I came to the
conclusion before the election that he was going to win, and was in
fact 'supposed to'. We know there was/is a reason...we are just waiting
to see it all play out.
One good thing about the 'fall out' was
another online friend sent me here...he stayed out of the fray, but
always 'had my back'. :)
Blessings~
