I read the article posted by Day, at http://yowusa.com/earth/2010/earth-0810-01a/1.shtml.  It is extremely sobering and dire if the Gulf Loop Current does not reorganize.  There will be far reaching consequences of an unknown nature.  I've searched for other articles relating to the Loop Current Stall, but so far ALL the links reference the same article and information.  If you read the article all the way through and look at the before and after satellite images of the Gulf comparing August 2009 to August 2010, you can see the differences in water temperatures and other changes that have taken place.  Even if the Loop Current does manage to reorganize, the fact that it stalled due to the oil spill is very significant.
