"Two Books about the Times Beyond the Rapture"
Someone on this website recommended
downloading the free book Beyond the Rapture by Gary T. Whipple which I
did and have been reading it. This book presents the idea of a
three-part rapture and resurrection process that is well documented
with Scripture and is logically consistent. Basically he says our
spirit is eternally saved when we accept Jesus as our savior and we can
never lose that salvation--it is permanent.
Further, our
soul must yet be saved after the spirit is saved by dying to this world
as Christ did, i.e., our soul must die to the world, as we do things
for Christ here in this life. At the Judgment Seat after the rapture
the Church will judged based on our soul works, while saved
spiritually. Finally, the Church will be bodily saved and transformed
into glorified bodies (the out-resurrrection) to rule and reign in the
Millenial Kingdom.
These beliefs are consistent with my
own and those I discussed some time ago by Lyn Mize in his book The
Open Door. His thought was there would be a two-phase resurrection
where only those who produced fruit (works) after salvation of their
spirit would be allowed into the Kingdom after the first-fruits
resurrection to rule and reign as joint heirs. Others who did not do
works after salvation will be allowed into heaven later, but would have
to lose their souls in the early part of the tribulation before being
allowed to be part of the Kingdom at the main harvest resurrection at
the mid-point of the tribulation. Somewhat different from Whipple but
similar in the general theme that not all of the Church is ready at the
rapture and the Judgment Seat for immediate entry into the Kingdom.
I enjoy reading this book and would like to thank whoever it was that recommended it.
