"Re: Re Anne Rice"

the question is what Christ is she following??? Is it the Christ of the bible our the more socialist/humanist Christ of the christian left??

<<said Wednesday that she refuses to be “anti-gay,” “anti-feminist," “anti-science” and “anti-Democrat.”>>

sounds to me like she is trying to make God in her image not the other way around. the fact it was catholicism that she went to is also troubling given its history in distorting the truth and allowing non christian practices into the church.

<<to an optimistic believer in a universe created and sustained by a loving God is crucial to me,>>

this seems to also limit God. the "optimism" and "loving God" would most likely preclude any judgment or punishment. more along the "God is love(and nothing else)" believe system.

she should be prayed for though.

"Re: Anne Rice"

Before stoning the woman, please consider CAREFULLY what she wrote:

Rice wrote, “For those who care, and I understand if you don't: Today I quit being a Christian ... It's simply impossible for me to ‘belong’ to this quarrelsome, hostile, disputatious, and deservedly infamous group. For ten years, I've tried. I've failed. I'm an outsider. My conscience will allow nothing else.”

Rice then added another post explaining her decision on Thursday:

“My faith in Christ is central to my life. My conversion from a pessimistic atheist lost in a world I didn't understand, to an optimistic believer in a universe created and sustained by a loving God is crucial to me," Rice wrote. "But following Christ does not mean following His followers. Christ is infinitely more important than Christianity and always will be, no matter what Christianity is, has been or might become.”

============================================================================
Anne Rice has a gay son.  Anne Rice did not convert into 'Protestant Christianity'.  She became a CATHOLIC.  And there ARE TRUE BORN AGAIN Catholics.

The point I believe Anne is making is she is not following RELIGION.  Christ is Central to her life which means she will continue to pray and seek guidance.  May she continue to seek the Lord in HIS WORD and given guidance, counsel, and LIGHT through the Holy Spirit of God.
