"HOW CLOSE ARE WE TO THE RAPTURE?"
I have enclosed an e-mail attachment for
all of my e-mail friends to see. It is a timeline of the
20th-21st Centuries. If you so wish, you may pass this on to your
e-mail friends. Before looking at the timeline, there are a few
things I would like to relate about it. Most of you who are
reading this have received Israel's long-rejected Messiah, the Lord
Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Some who are reading this
have never received Him. If you are reading this and are Jewish,
please go to the Old Testament and study Micah 5:2, Psalm 22:14-18,
Isaiah 53 (entire chapter), and Psalm 2 (entire psalm). In these
verses you will find the true identity of the JEWISH Messiah, none
other than Jesus! As most (but not all) of you know, I am a
Jewish Christian, also known as a Messianic Jew. I have accepted
Israel's long-rejected Messiah as my Lord and Savior. The
benefits of knowing Christ as one's Lord and Savior are not just for
this life, but also for the life to come. There is a real,
physical place known as Heaven, and a real, physical place known as
Hell. It is impossible to go to Heaven without knowing Christ,
and all who reject Christ sadly end up in the other place, Hell.
Throughout
history Israel has been God's "timepiece" for world events. In
721 BC the Assyrians conquered the northern 10 tribes of Israel, and
Israel ceased to be a free, independent nation. That freedom
would not return until the distant future, 2669 years into that
future---1948 AD! With Israel's return we entered a time period
described in the Bible as the "End Times" or "Last Days". We are
now more than 62 years into that time period. Huge events
prophesied in the Bible long ago are now looming before us.
Coming now very soon is an event described throughout the Old and New
Testaments---the Rapture off the earth of those who have received
Christ as their Lord and Savior. Those who have rejected Christ
will be left here, facing the arrival of the Antichrist immediately
after the Rapture. The Antichrist will make a major very
deceptive peace covenant between the Israelis, Palestinians, and
Arabs. This covenant (Dan. 9:27) will begin a seven year
countdown to Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ. This
seven year period is also known as the Tribulation Period, and will be
a most miserable period of time for the inhabitants of earth,
especially the last three and one half years, known as the Great
Tribulation, which will culminate with Armageddon. By the time
Armageddon has concluded, billions will have perished on earth.
The
question addressed on the enclosed timeline is how much longer till the
Rapture. Certain numbers God uses over and over again in the
Bible, such as 30 ("priesthood" or coming of age), 40 (a classic
Biblical generation), 50 (jubilee), and 70. On the timeline are
listed the major events for Israel from the end of the 19th Century
through the 20th Century. Interestingly notice that all of these
events occurred in the 7th year of the various decades, and that by
adding the significant numbers to these dates all yield the year 2017,
another 7th year of a decade. On the top right of the sheet you
will see a portion of the "parable of the fig tree" from
scripture. The "generation" that sees Israel's return as a nation
will see all the end time events come to pass, including the Second
Coming of Christ, at which time exactly as prophesied long ago, Israel
will receive Him (finally!) as their Messiah. What is a
"generation"? I have included on the timeline the example of a
person born in 1935. In 1948 at the age of 13 that person would
be just barely old enough to have remembered world events and Israel's
emergence as a nation. That same person in 2010 is now 75, and
with at least 7 more years till the Second Coming (IF the Rapture is
yet this year), that person would be 82 at the fulfillment of all end
time events. We all know statistically what happens from the age
of 82 onward. The number of people remaining dwindles
rapidly. So, if the Lord wants some of the population who were
just old enough to remember 1948 to still be alive for the Second
Coming, then the Rapture MUST be near!
We do not know if the
Second Coming is to be in 2017, but the timeline is nevertheless most
interesting! And 2017 minus 7 (Tribulation Period) is 2010!
The fall of 2010 is therefore most intriguing for the possibility of
the Rapture happening! The Jewish Feast of Trumpets (Rosh
Hashanah) is the feast that is most closely associated with the Rapture
in scripture. Time will tell, and not much more time at
that! Throughout scripture (Old and New Testaments) the Rapture
is associated with an event of "sudden destruction" that occurs on the
earth at virtually the same time as the Rapture is happening.
Looming ahead of us is a conflict between Israel and Iran, which will
have global ramifications. Make no mistake about it, for her very
survival, Israel will not allow Iran to go nuclear. The question
is not if this conflict is going to occur, but rather when it will
occur. I now leave you with some scripture, and, of course, the
attached 20th-21st Century timeline.
Proverbs
14:12 There is a way which SEEMS right to a
man, but its end is the way of death. (This is not referring to
physical death for everyone dies, but rather to spiritual death and
going to Hell.)
John 14:6 Jesus said to
him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; NO ONE COMES TO THE
FATHER, BUT THROUGH ME".
Acts 4:8-12
Then Peter (Jewish, very Jewish!), filled with the Holy Spirit, said to
them, "Rulers and elders of the people, if we are on trial today for a
benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well, let
it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that by the
name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised
from the dead---by this name this man stands before you in good
health. He (Jesus) is the stone which was rejected by you, the
builders (Israel), but which became the very corner stone. AND
THERE IS SALVATION IN NO ONE ELSE; FOR THERE IS NO OTHER NAME UNDER
HEAVEN THAT HAS BEEN GIVEN AMONG MEN, BY WHICH WE MUST BE SAVED".
Romans
1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it
is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, TO THE JEW
FIRST and also to the Greek (gentile).
Romans
10:12 For there is NO DISTINCTION between Jew
and Greek (gentile); for the same Lord is Lord of all, ABOUNDING IN
RICHES FOR ALL WHO CALL UPON HIM.
